Profile Boost places your profile at the top of the grid for nearby users for one hour, increasing your visibility within an extended radius. During the boost, a timer appears on your profile so you can track how much time remains.
By boosting your profile, you can reach more people nearby and increase your chances of receiving profile views, chats, and new connections. After your Profile Boost ends, you'll receive a summary showing how many views and chats were generated during the boost period.
Profile Boost is available only in select cities.
How to boost your profile
- Open the Hornet app and go to your profile.
- Tap Boost.
- Tap Boost Now.
- Review and confirm your payment details.
Your Profile Boost starts immediately after a successful purchase.
How does Profile Boost work?
While your Profile Boost is active, your profile is shown more prominently to nearby users. There is no visible indication to other users that your profile has been boosted. During the boost period, the distance indicator on your profile is temporarily hidden.
What happens if I cancel a Profile Boost?
If you cancel an active Profile Boost, it does not pause and cannot be resumed later. The Boost is considered used and cannot be restored or applied again, even if there was time remaining when it was canceled.
How can I get better results from a Profile Boost?
- Boost during busy hours. The more users are online, the better your visibility. Evenings tend to be the most active time on Hornet.
- Boost in more populated areas. If you live outside the city, try boosting when you're in a denser area — you'll notice the difference.
- Use your best picture as the main photo. Other users see your profile in the grid based on your main image, so choose a strong one.
- Avoid changing your profile photo right before boosting. New photos must pass moderation before going live, so allow some time after uploading.
Why did my boosted profile receive fewer interactions than expected?
All Profile Boosts are processed using the same boosting algorithm. While the boost itself functions the same way for every profile, the visibility and engagement received may vary due to factors such as member activity, time of day, holidays, seasonal trends, and overall demand for boosted content at that time.
As a result, two Profile Boosts may produce different results even though both were applied successfully.
